Monday 18th July – bike **** – Early morning two rivers, Orwell to the Deben– sunny and hot.

With temperatures set to reach record levels, maybe 40 degrees inland we decided to head out early this morning to beat the heat. When I woke at 6.20 Mag had already gone so I dressed and left home at 6.30 heading down to Felixstowe dock view point via Langer Park. Again, the Mc Donald’s have been to the car park again with litter everywhere, what’s wrong with people??? It was very quiet here and a nice temperature for cycling too as I set off to the old jetty at the end of the Orwell. Then back through Landguard and around to the prom, the sea front was busy considering it was pretty early, loads of open water swimmers, paddle boarders, canoers, joggers, cyclist’s and dog walkers as I made my way to The Fludgers. Around to The Dip stopping for a chat with a lady enjoying her clifftop beach hut. I then bumped into another friend out walking to the ferry with the Deben low and looking still in the light airs:) There were some nice reflections on the Deben so took several pics before heading out on the bumpy Deben path to Kings Fleet. Then along Marsh lane to The Grove and home, a top bike ride, out for two hours covering nearly 14 miles. After breakfast I managed to do my exercises in the shade in our little back garden where temperatures got to 81 degrees! There was a chance of a sea breeze but it did not arrive so we went for a short walk along the prom which way too hot for us! Then up the town to buy the local paper as I have two pics in it and home for an ice cream:)
Tomorrow is looking promising for a foil but very hot too!
